Homeschool

Homeschool? Teaching?

Yes, that is on my new to-do list....everyday!  I started homeschooling my daughter, Olivia, in September 2012.  She is a first grader and we are having a blast.  I am definitely learning as we go but thought you might like to share in some of the fun we are having.  I will do my best to describe or link up to any projects we do so you can have instructions to follow.

Our study of insects began with a morning of taking pictures from an ant's perspective.  Then a creative journal time lead to learning about the beginning, middle, and end of story telling and writing.  Click here to see the full post.

When my daughter decided she might run away from home if I made her review basic addition AGAIN, I came up with this after seeing something similar in her math book.  Transform this into all kinds of math problems!  Click here to see the entire post.

When my first grader asked me about Hanukkah, I decided to do a unit study with her.  We made these two menorahs.  One used candles, and a safer version for my younger daughter that used tea lights.  Click here to see the directions for both menorahs.
