A Year From Now

As we s.l.o.w.l.y drag out our Christmas decorations I continue to say to Nate, "Just think, next year at this time...(fill in the blank)."  As we s.l.o.w.l.y. drag out the Christmas decorations Nate is saying, "Thank God, this is the last time I drag these Christmas decorations out from up here." Yes, mine has a tinge of sadness, his, well...

So, the time came upon us the first of November to learn where the military will send us next.  And that.they.did in record time.  Like, we didn't even have time to get in our base of preference.  But, MIRACLES DO HAPPEN and can you believe they gave us the first base on our dream sheet?  FYI---A dream sheet is a list of 1 or more bases where you would like to live.  It was widely believed (by me) that they let you have this list, but never looked at it.  So, maybe I was wrong...just this once.  ;)

Anyway, we are leaving Texas, where you can see this just about any day of the week...
for a view that looks like this, whenever we load up three girls, lots of sunscreen and every beach toy and surfboard we own...
Ah, yes, although we realize our "rears" will hardly ever see the seat of any kind of beach chair, as long as we are parents, we can dream can't we?  It worked for the "dream sheet", remember?  Where, you are asking does this lead us?
That is right!  We are moving to Destin, Florida.  Home of Eglin, AFB.  While we are sad (which really does not do our feelings justice) to leave Texas, we are excited for a new adventure that will provide many new and happy memories for us as a family!  We will give you more details as we get them.  Right now all we know is that Nate is set to report there in mid December 2012.  Sorry, can't publish the exact date out here in "public" ;)

In the meantime, please be patient as we definitely have our hands full 24/7 with three gregarious girls that might just be considered high maintenance in the "needs attention" department.  Emails are always appreciated and read and I do my very best to respond, although it may be short.  Please know we are always thankful to know you are thinking of us and our family!  Stay tuned....
