Family Life...What Do We DO?

Sunday - April 3, 2011

We have been quite busy as a family of four over the past couple of months; and, while I try to blog of each event some just get missed which is a shame considering all of the pictures I take.  So, I thought I would recap a few of our recent adventures here.  We love to hang out on the weekends and explore the town/state we live in.  Here is what we have been up to besides our usual chaos!

The Wichita Mountains
Located about one hour away in Oklahoma, this is a guaranteed "hit" with any family.  We have been several times since we have been in Texas and we love exploring new trails each time.  It is so neat to see how our family has grown each visit.

AND...This was our first visit in 2009

AND...our second visit in 2010
 My how time flies!

A day out at How Great Thou Art Kids Art Studio
Next up, Olivia went to Art Class.  WOW what an experience.  This was her thing for sure.  We can only show one shot because her 2nd masterpiece will be a gift for someone who keeps close tabs on this blog and we don't want to spoil the surprise with a picture since Olivia will probably tell them anyway.

The Plex - Family Fun Entertainment
So this is a place we have been to one time to meet our soccer team for the first time.  We went in and it is like Chuck-E-Cheese on steroids in there.  It is much more open with games for all ages and I knew then I was in trouble.  Thankfully Olivia was a little on the younger side and this did not all click for her then.  But, we do have a Chuck-E-Cheese and thanks to Meme pointing that out to her when we drove into town for the first time ever, we were not able to put that visit off as long as we did this one.  So, we had a nice warm weekend at about 80 degrees so we took off for some family fun that I am sure we will regret a time or two since we pass this place almost daily.  Needless to say it was a blast and great fun.  One thing is for sure, Granddaddy has some work to do on their golf game.  Check out how Addison putts the ball!

I love when people call and the first thing they ask is, "Are you busy?"  I want to say, "Of course I am I have two kids!"  Well, now most people can't reach me at home to say that to me because these kids are keeping us on the go!  Now it is just my cell phone that rings, when I actually have it with me and charged, with the new phrase, "Can you talk?"  Well ok, you called me on my cell, so I am either driving, wrangling two kids, in a potty with two kids somewhere, and the list goes on and on.  I just smile though and answer, "yes".  If I answered it means I love you and I hope you love me because you are not going to have my undivided attention.  Enjoy the pics of what we are up to now.

Sorry this is foggy...I couldn't get the camera to stop fogging up.  This is Olivia at swim lessons...once a week.

Olivia dances once a week....tap and ballet.  Freeze dance is her favorite!
We all attend Awana at our church where Nate and I are leaders for a three year old class.

Once a week Olivia attends gymnastics and Addison goes to tumbling.  They love this!

So there it is, and yes we are tired.  We would not trade anything for our girls to have these experiences.  Their smiles make the endless road travel, snack filled car, and empty gas tank worth it!
